i love this cd it was recommended by a friend because i like lily allen and i now love kat nash
She is incredibly personal and passionate. If you are sensitive towards explicatives you may want to cherry pick certain songs from this CD, however, I would highly suggest you purchase this CD. It is rare for me to buy multiple copies of anything, but I found myself buying two more copies of this CD to give to my sisters.
Other songs like `Mouthwash', `Birds', `The Skeleton Song', `Nicest Thing', and `Merry Happy' are similarly brilliant in their own ways.My favorite lyrics: "I wish that you loved me/ I wish that you needed me/ I wish that you knew when I said two sugars, actually I meant three"There are songs I don't care for, for example `D**khead' or `The Sh** Song' because they're simply unnecessary and lack finesse. It is one of kind. `Pumpkin Soup' is also pretty mediocre.
Kate Nash's 'Made of Bricks' completely captured to me. This song alone will show you that Nash has serious talent as a songwriter.
Her indie pop feel is refreshing and heartfelt; lyrics read like words straight from her diary. Her songs shift from intense words of love/adoration to bitter contempt.Nash's songs are hauntingly beautiful; my heart was immediately captured by the lyrics and style of `Mariella'.
If you like Kate, you should check out Regina Spektor. I had the censored version of Foundations on a mix CD from a friend and decided to check out the rest of the CD. But its a great CD, and I'm very glad I bought it. They sing quite alike. Awesome mix. Love her style.
Clever and sometimes hilarious lyrics, catchy tunes, fun to sing along to. I love the whole album. I'm no music critic but. I heard a song from this CD on Pandora and decided to buy it.
Much of the rest features her distinct cockney accent (which I find charming) but in more of a folky, coffeehouse sound. Her future will depend on whether she can progress as a songwriter. I heard Kate Nash on Slacker Radio and I thought it was Lily Allen. Other than the R rating for lyrics, this is the kind of music that plays in the background at hip stores and cafes. A solid and snarky "Foundation" is in place. Of course it was "Foundations" and that cut is surely the gem of the album. Nothing else is that strong or full of the fresh pop sound.
